In
the Spanish high plains from La Mancha there is a village that carries
the name of its creator.
It is one of the 300 settlements that dictator Franco built in the
50s, in which the new fascist man would be born.
The film portraits this unordinary small town and six of its inhabitants,
and while they go on their everyday life an unknown chapter of the
Spanish history is revealed.
"Franco’s
Settlers" is a review of the legacy and prevalence, apparent
or hidden, of Francisco Franco's figure, a glance at the past in
order to find the key to the present and to understand a world where
the figure of the dictator persists, even nowadays.
